In order to really clean the water, LIQA® uses the advantages of UV-C technology. This was integrated into the cap of the drinking water bottle. When UV light is absorbed, it breaks the chemical bonds in DNA. In this way, viruses, bacteria or fungi are deactivated and infection by unwanted germs is prevented.

Great product for outdoors and everyday use
I have already tested the product on a hiking trip. No annoying lugging of water, but refill directly to every stream and fountain (no drinking water written), where I would not normally drink. Activating the bottle works very easily and well. Since I have never had any complaints, I am fully convinced of the product and now even use it in everyday life to neutralize tap water. The product is good and the idea is good too, but I have two small concerns if it weren't possible to make a double-walled bottle so that it would stay nice and cold and an on/off switch so that it doesn't always start cleaning itself that would be great

How often does the Aurora by LIQA™ need to be charged? How do I know when the battery is low?
A charge lasts up to 10 days and is conveniently charged via micro-USB. This is based on an estimated usage of 2-3 cycles per day. When your battery is low, your cap will flash red. The screen turns off when the battery is completely discharged. To use again, please charge.
How do I activate the cleaning process?

1. Fill the Aurora bottle with water* to the maximum fill line as shown in the bottle illustration.
2. Close the Aurora bottle with the Aurora cap. Double click on the touch display to start the cleaning process.
3. The white and blue light will be on for 180 seconds.
4. Enjoy fresh, purified water when the lights are off.
Has the Aurora by LIQA™ been tested?
The UV-C LED technology in the Aurora by LIQA™ has been tested by an independent third-party laboratory. The Aurora is effectiveness against E. coli and S. aureus & Salmonella. Learn more on our technology page.
Does Aurora by LIQA™ remove heavy metals or fluoride?
No, the Aurora by LIQA™ does not contain a filter. It does not remove any physical contaminants from the water. The Aurora by LIQA™ uses UV-C LED technology to remove up to 99.9%* bacteria, germs and viruses from your water.

How clean does the water have to be?
At the very least, the water should be clearly discernible to the eye with no heavy deposits.
What happens to the germs and bacteria in the water or in the bottle? Is it filtered out?
UV-C LED is a water purification system. The UV-C wavelength used by the UV-C LED in the Aurora by LIQA™ cap is optimized to a wavelength of 280 nanometers and eliminates up to 99.9%* of bio-contaminants such as E. coli and S. aureus & Salmonella before DNA can spread. This improves the quality of your water. Aurora by LIQA™ is not a filter and does not remove any physical particles from the water.

Does the Aurora by LIQA™ keep water cold or warm?
The single wall Aurora Bottle does not keep contents hot or cold but can be filled with cold water. DO NOT fill the bottle with hot water.
